In his prime, Jaromir Jagr was one of the best players in the National Hockey League… and he also had some of the craziest hair. Jagr’s mullet was probably just as popular as his skills.
After leaving to play a few years in the KHL in Russia, Jagr is back in the NHL, but without his mullet, and for the Philadelphia Flyers. Jagr’s best years were spent with the Pittsburgh Penguins where he won two Stanley Cups alongside one of the greatest players in the history of the game, Mario Lemieux. The Penguins and Flyers are bitter rivals, so Jagr going to Philly has definitely ruffled some feathers among the fans.
This would be a good story for a few reasons. First, Jagr is well-known among hockey fans who have loved the game for awhile, and it would be a good opportunity for newer fans to see who Jagr was and learn about him. Lots of old footage from Jagr’s prime would be great to start off the story. The new fans can learn, and the old fans can reminisce.
After the introduction, we could interview Jagr about how the NHL has changed and what he expects from the Pittsburgh fans, and how he thinks he can contribute to a team at his ripe age of 39.
Here’s the story.
